David Brown, Racer

David is the President of the Ontario Disabled ski team.

He took up the sport in 1985 and won his first bronze medal at the
Canadian Festival and Championships in the 1988 Black Diamond race. This "opened" his eyes to a challenging and rewarding new passion.

Named to the Ontario team in 1989, he has 15 competitive
medals of which 8 are from the Canadian Disabled ski championships
throughout the 1990's. In 1999, he was the only representative from
Ontario.

David's most recent accomplishments  include winning the overall men's blind division at the Eastern Canadian disabled championships in Quebec in 2003, a bronze medal for slalom in the 2006 Ontario Paralympic Winter Games and a third place in the men's giant slalom 2007 Canadian championships.

David has a very full and active life with a busy career in the computing
industry, a family with two young sons and many interests. He has just completed his Masters degree in Software engineering and participates in golf, wind surfing, and competitive sailing.

He is looking forward to training with his guide for the Ontario championships.
